We got our Fish Sticks passports today! Just another step closer. As my buddy who has gone before me said, "You are rounding 3rd base."
And the birth date that was assigned to them is the birthday of my sister. It also was the due date of #4 Fish Stick.
I wish I could show you the pictures from August and recently. When we got their photos in August we fell in love; we knew they were ours. They were totally beautiful. BUT their eyes looked sad.
We've been getting regular sets of photos and we are now a firm believer in foster care! They almost don't look like the same kids. They are smiling, laughing, healthy and totally different.
Foster care costs a bunch of money but I thank God for our foster family who has taken in our boys. I envision that she sings to them, prays over them, hugs them, kisses them, clothes them and feeds them, and tells them that their Mama and Daddy will come to get them soon. And if she is anything like I envision, she might cry when we leave with them.
Fostering is an amazing thing - so hard yet so beautiful. I know because I've watched a sweet friend do it here in my church for the last few months. If you know a foster family, give them a hug, tell them they are your hero and pray for them. I know our foster family has smoothed the way for our transition from 8 to 10 Fishes. We are truly grateful and ready to touch home plate!
So excited for you guys, Cassie! What an amazing journey!
