We heard back from the USCIS (Customs and Immigration) 6 weeks on the day after we sent off our paperwork. They told us to estimate 6-8 week processing. We had our fingerprinting done on Wednesday of the same week. We now are put in the pool for a referral. A referral (for those not knowledgeable about the adoption process) means that now we are waiting to hear from our country with a photo and estimate birth date of our Fish Sticks. We have requested to get 2 kiddos as young as possible between age 0 and 2.
This is a very exciting time of waiting (usually 2-4 months) knowing that soon we will have a picture of what these Fish Sticks look like, their age and their gender!
So far this process has gone very smoothly and we appreciate any prayers for continued peace in this process.
